2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport 4MATIC
Mercedes has announced the second model in their new “AMG Sport” range, the Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport 4Matic. Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz launched a new range of vehicles named AMG Sport by the introduction of the new GLE, and as previously reported AMG Sport range is to close the gap between regular Mercedes-Benz and their AMG siblings.

The second and the latest member of the AMG Sport range is the controversial C450 AMG Sport.
Why is the new Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport 4Matic controversial? Because of the AMG badge and lack of an AMG hand built engine.
Yes, the new C450 AMG Sport is not a true AMG, infact it is not an AMG at all. It is tuned by AMG, however it doesn’t have a hand built AMG engine.
Just like BMW (M Sport), Audi (S) and Cadillac (Vsport), the AMG Sport is a marketing tool to sell more cars however this doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing. Mercedes’ performance arm, the almighty AMG over the years has given us many exciting sports cars and it has grown into a money making brand all by itself, and just like Porsche making SUVs and Sedans to make more money in order to develop sports cars, AMG too has to take the plunge. You see, car companies are ran by accountants who crunch numbers, and performance brands usually end up either going under, or have to subsidize high volume products in order to make the money needed to continue RD on performance cars.
This move, although controversial is actually a very good thing for the buyers. The new C450 AMG Sport is a very exciting sport sedan positioned to take on the Audi S4. It does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, and has everything you would expect from an AMG (except an AMG hand built engine), and it’s the only 4WD high performance option in the W205 C-Class range, as the new W205 Mercedes-AMG C63 is RWD only.
This is very interesting, as the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport 4MATIC may appeal to a wider range of buyers (those who get snow anyway) and it is the best choice compared to the BMW 335xi and Audi S4 (Pains me to say this, as I drive an S4).
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport 4MATIC hands down has the best interior in its class.
